The stance on fossil fuels of the 9th District of Texas Congressional candidate Johnny Teague is based on Biblical principles.
If you believe in a Creator and that everything is here for a purpose, then you have to realize that fossil fuels are not an accident. At the very beginning of time, God knew we would need automation and industry, so in His Wisdom, He gave us the fuels that we would need. The amazing thing about this earth is that it is a closed system. Plants emit oxygen which we need to live. We emit carbon dioxide as does our industry which the plants need to live. This is simplistic again, but true. Just as God gave the vine for burning, so He gave us oil and gas for burning too.
We are blessed by so many forms of energy in this nation. We are energy independent. We have energy sources of solar, wind, coal, nuclear, oil and gas. We should do all we can to keep our environment clean and safe, but for our nation to be strong, for our nation to compete, for our nation to be safe, we should always thrive in the oil and gas industry as the chief means and source to real automotive power.
Biblical Support – Ezekiel 15:1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, how is the wood of a vine better than that of a branch on any of the trees in the forest? 3 Is wood ever taken from it to make anything useful? Do they make pegs from it to hang things on? 4 And after it is thrown on the fire as fuel and the fire burns both ends and chars the middle, is it then useful for anything? 5 If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred? 6 “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: As I have given the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest as fuel for the fire.
